What is the price of working in high-paying financial jobs? We studied hard in school, did the internship, went back to grad school and, with a little luck, landed a great job at the investment firm of our choice.
So, why do so many of us wake up one morning feeling like we have become a slave to our work? And, depending on where we are in our career, we might feel like we do not have any viable alternatives. We recently interviewed Denise Palmieri, from the Pinnacle Group, an executive recruitment agency for the alternative investment industry. She brought a very unique point of view on what professionals in financial jobs can do to avoid such a predicament.
She talks about her own professional (and personal) journey, including leaving behind a law firm she built with 55 attorneys. She also gave us real-life examples of people who made the switch and, well, some that did not live long enough to get that far.
