Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. (KKR) was founded as a private equity firm on May 1976 specializing in leveraged buyouts. The firm is lead by its founding members Henry R. Kravis and George R. Roberts.

KKR Asset Management LLC (“KAM”) is KKR’s asset management platform with 2 divisions: Marketable Securities Division and Alternative Investments Divisions.

3. Capital Market

KKR’s capital markets business provides customized capital markets advice and capital solutions for investments and companies seeking financing. KKR’s capital markets combines the assets acquired from KKR & Co. with the capital markets business of KKR.

The firm has obtained broker-dealer licenses in the United States (the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission), Canada, the United Kingdom (the Financial Services Authority), United Arab Emirates, Australia and Japan (Financial Services Authority of Japan).

KKR’s capital markets portfolio includes: Aricent, Alliance Boots, Dollar General, Energy Future Holdings, First Data, Rockwood, Avago, KKR Financial, Sealy, Northgate, Oriental Brewery, BMG, SunGard, Oncor, HCA and NXP.
